Hmm. I revisit both the problems. I got to say, the whole Oh, Theta and Omega notations are tricky to grasp. I will certainly write them up here at some point.
Also read TAOCP 1.2.10. Note that the properties of the set of Oh are explained well in the text as well as the exercises.
